GILBERT (November 29) – Today, Congressman-elect Andy Biggs announced three hires to fill senior staff roles in his official office: Chief of Staff, Deborah Weigel; Communications Director, Daniel Stefanski; District Director, Greg Safsten.
“I am thrilled with my first three hires for the incoming office,” Biggs said.“Deborah, Daniel and Greg are uniquely qualified for their respective roles, and their talents and body of work will be well-received in Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District. My staff and I are excited and ready to hit the ground running in January to serve our constituents and to work to advance the conservative principles that we campaigned on throughout this year.”
Deborah Weigel – Deborah is currently the Legislative Director for Congressman Reid Ribble (R-WI). Previously, Ms. Weigel was a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) from 2011-2016 managing his foreign policy and defense portfolio. Prior to 2011, Deborah worked directly for the Chairman and CEO of Williams & Jensen, one of the leading independent law firms in Washington, and in several positions for Congressman James Sensenbrenner (R-WI). Ms. Weigel holds a degree in Political Science and History from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is currently enrolled in a master’s program at the United States Naval War College. Deborah lives in Washington, DC, and she enjoys spending time with her fiancé James and dog Charlie.
Daniel Stefanski – Daniel is currently an Associate for Axiom Public Affairs in Phoenix, Arizona, where he helped lead the political and communications efforts for Mr. Biggs. Stefanski is a graduate of Arizona State University with a B.A. in History and a B.S. in Business Management, and he has been a part of several Arizona statewide, congressional, and legislative political campaigns over the past decade. Daniel was on staff for U.S. Congressman Trent Franks from 2007-2015, and also served as the Deputy Campaign Manager for Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich in 2014. Daniel and his wife, Hannah, have one son, Jackson.
Greg Safsten – Greg most recently served as Congressman Matt Salmon’s Legislative Director. Prior to his role with Representative Salmon, Safsten served as a political staffer and Senior Advisor to various House and Senate campaigns, with a strong emphasis on Arizona races. A native to Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District, graduate of Mountain View High School in Mesa, AZ, and a proud Eagle Scout, Safsten continues to serve the East Valley in governmental, ecclesiastical, and community service roles. He lives in Gilbert with his wife, Raleigh.
