March 8, 2016

7 Arizona Representatives join 20 other elected officials in endorsing Biggs for Arizona’s Fifth District

PHOENIX (March 8) – Seven members of Arizona’s House of Representatives today endorsed Andy Biggs for Congress. Representatives John Allen, Sonny Borrelli, Jay Lawrence, Paul Boyer, Warren Petersen, Eddie Farnsworth, and Frank Pratt join 20 other elected officials and more than 60 East Valley grassroots leaders in their endorsement.

They released the following statements:

Representative John Allen:
“Andy Biggs has a remarkable track record of standing for conservative principles. His leadership in the Arizona Senate has produced great things for this state. I am happy to give my support to Andy’s candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives.”

Representative Sonny Borrelli:
“There is no one I trust more to replace Congressman Matt Salmon than Andy Biggs. Andy is a fighter, and he gets things done. For this reason, he has earned the tremendous respect of his colleagues in the Senate throughout his tenure in that legislative body. He will do the same in the U.S. House of Representatives, and I am proud to stand behind his candidacy.”

Representative Jay Lawrence:
“There are very few people you can completely trust in the political system, and Andy is one of them. He has been a friend for as long as I have known him. I know that Andy is in the system because he understands that he is needed to fight against federal encroachment, to protect the family and the sanctity of life, and to decrease the size and scope of government. We need more people like Andy in Congress, and that is why I’m endorsing his campaign.”

Representative Paul Boyer:
“I’m grateful for the time I’ve had to interact with President Andy Biggs at the Arizona legislature. I’ve learned much from his leadership and his adherence to his convictions. Congressman Matt Salmon has left a significant imprint on his district, and it is far too important to keep that seat in the right hands. I hope you will join me in supporting Andy Biggs for the U.S. House of Representatives.”

Representative Warren Petersen:
“I know I speak for a lot of us at the Arizona Legislature when I say that I am going to miss the leadership of President Andy Biggs over at the Senate. Andy has done so much for the Legislature, for his district, and for Arizona. He has been around for over a decade to fight for conservative values, and his perseverance to hold the line has led to significant victories for the causes he has held most dearly. I don’t know of any other person in Congressional District 5 who could seamlessly step into Congressman Matt Salmon’s seat like Andy, and I am honored to join so many others in endorsing his candidacy for the U.S. House.”

Representative Eddie Farnsworth:
“For 14 years it has been my honor to serve in the Arizona Legislature with Andy Biggs. He is an honorable man of sound constitutional understanding who has worked tirelessly in defending and promoting the principles of individual freedom. Arizona is a better place to live because of Andy Biggs. Now, more than ever, we need a statesman like Andy Biggs in the U.S. Congress. Like our founding fathers, Andy’s keen intellect, solid understanding of the constitution and impeccable moral character will stand as a beacon of liberty. It is without reservation that I endorse Andy Biggs for the United States House of Representatives.”

Senate President Andy Biggs:
“I’m thankful for the endorsements of these seven Representatives today. Their support adds to our campaign’s increasing momentum.  I have valued their friendships and counsel over the years, and I look forward to working with them for years to come.”

Other endorsements include: Congressman Matt Salmon; Congressman Trent Franks; Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio; Phoenix Councilman Sal DiCicci; Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery; senators Sylvia Allen, Nancy Barto, Judy Burges, Debbie Lesko, Gail Griffin, Steve Yarbrough, David Farnsworth, John Kavanagh, Steve Smith, Jeff Dial, Kimberly Yee, Don Shooter; Gilbert Vice Mayor Jared Taylor; Gilbert Councilman Victor Peterson; and Queen Creek Councilwoman Emilena Turley.
