Andy Biggs’ Statement on Supreme Court Texas Abortion Law Decision
June 28, 2016
GILBERT – Today, in a 5-3 decision, the Supreme Court struck down a Texas Law requiring abortion centers to meet the same standards as ambulatory surgical centers. Andy Biggs, candidate for Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District, released the following statement:
It pains me to hear today that the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-3 decision, struck down the Texas abortion clinic law – a decision that will be felt all over the nation, including in Arizona. Over the past ten-plus years, myself, other pro-life legislators, and pro-life advocates have made significant strides in creating a pro-life culture and safe haven in Arizona. Today, we see what a runaway, activist court can do in the blink of an eye – and the importance of President’s judicial nominations at all levels of the court system. I will continue to vote 100% for life when I am given the privilege of serving in the U.S. House of Representatives. Today may have been a temporary setback for the pro-life movement, but the fight will continue until all life is considered sacred and protected.
