June 30, 2016
GILBERT – Today, the National Border Patrol Council, Local 2544, the largest Border Patrol Local in the nation, endorsed Andy Biggs for Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District. This endorsement comes as another wave of support from members of Arizona’s law enforcement community.
“On behalf of the nearly 3,000 rank and file men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol in the Tucson Sector, it is my pleasure to endorse you on your campaign for Arizona’s District 5,” said Art Del Cueto, President of Local 2544. “With your recent visit and follow up phone call I saw first hand your interest in the important job and mission that agents perform on daily basis. You have solicited the help and input of rank and file Border Patrol Agents, and we are sure that with you in office, agents’ needs will be met. Your no-nonsense approach and belief that our country was founded on checks and balances afforded in our great Constitution is extremely important to our nation’s future. We are confident that you will win and we look forward to continue working with you in the future.”
“I am humbled by the endorsement of the nearly 3,000 men and women who serve in the U.S. Border Patrol, Tucson Sector,” Andy Biggs said. “The service that our Border Patrol agents give to our country deserve our utmost honor and respect. Unfortunately, our Border Patrol agents are operating under President Obama’s administration, who has completely undermined their efforts, impairing our safety and national security. Border Patrol leaders have expressed their deep concerns about the lack of leadership from Washington, and I am proud to know that they have vested their trust in me to champion the fight for a secure border in Congress. I look forward to a continued partnership with our Border Patrol Agents to ensure that our country’s safety is placed above all else.”
