Statement On New Federal Budget Deficit

July 16, 2016

GILBERT – Today, the White House announced that the federal budget deficit for 2016 will rise to $600 billion – a rise of $162 billion from last year. Andy Biggs released the following statement in response:

“It is troublesome to see our federal government play games with taxpayer money, but we should not be surprised by the pattern that has come to mark the Washington Establishment on both sides of the aisle.”

“This is why I am running for Congress. At the Arizona Legislature, we created a culture of fiscal responsibility and accountability. Washington, D.C. needs a dose of that culture. We need to cut our out-of-control spending, balance our budget and provide a prosperous future for generations to come. I look forward to joining this fight in 2017.”
